There’s a spot waiting for you in the Ozarks where you can hide away from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy all the privacy, peacefulness, and beauty you can soak up. Truly relax, for here is a place where you can swim, fish, hike, explore a cave or just sit in the porch swing with a favorite book and never move your car.

Clear Creek Cabin was built about 1850 near Alpena. In 1951, each hand-hewn log was carefully numbered and moved to its present site on our 345 acre farm of rolling meadows, tree-lined trails, scenic bluffs and the Saltpeter Cave.

Open year-around, the cabin has been completely refurbished. There’s a large living room with fireplace, one bedroom, one bath, a fully equipped kitchen, and outdoor barbecue. The broad front porch overlooks our own two mile long frontage on Clear Creek. The cabin is air conditioned and equipped to sleep four people.

You’ll relish the comfort while enjoying the antiques, old pictures, flower boxes, herb garden, and quilts that complete the special rustic charm of Clear Creek Cabin. We’ve stocked it with books and games, too, so gather for family fun after finishing off burgers from the grill in the evenings.

Sparkling Clear Creek is known for its smallmouth bass, so bring your fishing gear along. There are beautiful, deep holes where your family can enjoy daily swims as well, including one a short hike from the cabin where a majestic bluff looks down on a perfect sandy beach. Pack a picnic and stay all day.

Re-discover the childhood joys of wading in the shallow stretches and turning over rocks to catch crawdads or watching the water spiders skate on the surface. Pick a handful of the many-hued wildflowers that bloom along the banks to enjoy as whippoorwills begin an evening serenade for your dinner hour.

Hike the meadows or the wooded trails and discover the Saltpeter Cave. Listed in the "Caves of America", Saltpeter Cave was once home to the Osage Indians. You may even find an arrowhead they left behind as you explore its rooms and halls. We love for you to discover it, so we’re not telling where it is on our scenic farmstead unless you give up!

If you must travel from here, take an easy day trip to the Buffalo National River, the nation’s first national river, for some exciting floating, or sample the world-famous trout fishing in the White River. Other day excursions include the many shows at Branson and the crafts and fun-filled Silver Dollar City.

A warm welcome awaits you at Clear Creek Cabin in any season. Whether you choose to enjoy the quiet days of winter snow, the bright colors of fall, the snowy dogwood of spring, or the warm, lazy days of summer with us, you’ll go home refreshed, filled with delightful Ozark memories.

Day excursions include: Branson, Eureka Springs, Silver Dollar City, Buffalo National River and White River famous for trout.
