Lager Cabin is secluded within the Ozark Mountains and located near the Upper Buffalo River with beautiful views. Settled in a private forest on eighty acres, surrounding the Cabin are many different  types of trees Dogwood, Oak, and Hickory are just a few. We are located on top of Mt. Sherman between Ponca and Jasper, Arkansas. The National Park is only two miles from the cabin.  Kyle’s Landing, Steel Creek, Erbie, Ozark and Pruitt offer, hiking, Canoeing, Swimming, rock climbing, swimming horseback riding and primitive camping and have excellent availability. There is also a canoe rental about ¼ mile from the cabin.

Places of interest surrounding the cabin are Ozarks Highland Trail, Hemmed in Hollow, Compton Trail head, Lost Valley, Center Point Trail and Round Top Mountain, just to name a few. So if you are looking for an Upper Buffalo River get away, come stay with us. The Cabin sleeps about 4 people. Queen size bed in the master bedroom, full size bed in the guest bedroom and a futon bed in the living room. There is a full size bath and shower. Fully furnished Kitchen with drinking glasses, cooking supplies, coffee maker and other supplies. The cabin has heating and cooling for those hot days or cool nights. Also a barbecue grill, VCR, DVD, local phone, we have some movies provided, but you might like to bring your own.

The Buffalo National River: experience the canoeing, fishing, we’re accessible to the early spring floating on the upper river and the summer floating on the middle river. It’s just a 60, miles to Cotter for trout fishing in the White River as well, local shuttle service and canoe rental available.

Hiking Trails: our area has more hiking trails than any other section of the river and there are additional trails in the National Forest. See the most photographed rock in Arkansas, Hawksbill Crag; the awesome Pedestal Rocks, rock climber’s favorite Sam's Throne; beautiful Lost Valley and more.

Historic Eureka Springs: looking for crafts, shows, and unique gift shops? A day trip to Eureka Springs, a Victorian spa city, can include attractions like The Great Passion Play and the narrow gauge railroad. It's just a pleasant hour's drive, tour the famous Crescent Hotel, and the church entered through the dome, enjoy fine dining, and see the turn of the century homes and buildings.

Jasper: we’re just 4 miles west of Jasper for dining, and 21 miles south of Harrison for shopping.

Branson, Missouri: has great music shows and is an easy drive, you can choose from country music, gospel, and comedy shows by some of the biggest names in the business.

Springfield, Missouri: is another good day trip to see the famous Bass Pro Shop with its wildlife exhibits.

Mountain Biking: miles of old roads and Forest Service trails and roads are open to bike riders.

Scenic Drives: Reader's Digest calls Arkansas Highway 7 one of the top ten scenic drives in America. Be sure to take your camera for some breathtaking mountaintop views.

Wilderness Adventures: We have three wilderness areas nearby; the upper Buffalo, Ponca, Richland.

Craft and Antique shopping: local shops offer a variety of crafts and antiques at very reasonable prices.

Caving: explore on your own at recreation areas like Lost Valley or call Mystic Caverns, 870-743-1739, or Hurricane River Cave, 1-800-245-2282.

Blanchard Springs Caverns: were described as "the cave find of the century" when the huge, upper level was discovered in 1963. The multi-million dollar complex was 10 years under development. Visitor tours are offered daily with the exception of selected national holidays and some weekdays in the winter. Reservations are recommended during heavy-use periods of summer and fall. Golfing: there are golf courses at Harrison, Diamond City, Bull Shoals and Huntsville.

Crafts: You’ll find them here in the Ozarks, the same functional, beautiful furniture, quilts, baskets, toys, and other treasures our ancestors made when they came here in the early 1800s. Or, try a day trip to , Silver Dollar City for shows, crafts, and family fun. Call 1-800-952-6626 for information.

Watchable Wildlife: We’re the Elk Capitol of Arkansas by proclamation of the governor, and you can enjoy seeing our elk herd at many locations along the Buffalo River. We’ll help you select a spot for elk watching. We also have a wonderful variety of wildlife ranging from whitetail deer and black bear to gray and red squirrels and from bald eagles and great blue herons to finches. Exploring Newton County is an adventure.

Lakes: We are close enough to Bull Shoals Lake for an easy day trip to enjoy boating and fishing there.

  • $85.00 per night for two adults

Check-In Check-out times: In 2:00 pm and Out 11:00 am


Reservation

  • To hold a reservation, full payment is required on one or two night stays.

  • To hold a reservation, on three or more nights stays require a deposit of $220.00 and the remainder 15 days before arrival.

  • To hold a reservation, with check or cash payment must be received within 15 days upon making reservation.


Cancellation


No Refunds on less than two night stays or on deposit.

When cancellations do occur, we will give you a rain check for a year from the time of the original reservation.
