Located just 12 miles south of Jasper, deep in the Arkansas Grand Canyon, these log cabins provide peace, serenity, and easy access to a wide variety of recreational opportunities in the Buffalo River Country.
Red Rock Retreat is part of a 130 acre Lipizzan horse farm. We raise the world famous "Dancing White Stallions" of Vienna, Austria. You are welcome to get acquainted with these magnificent creatures. We offer a limited number of foals for sale.
Experience the Ozarks
We can provide information, maps and advice on special things to see and do while you are staying at Red Rock Retreat.
Canoeing, rock climbing, hiking, cycling, 4-wheeling, spelunking, swimming, horseback riding and exploring opportunities abound in the Ozark National Forest and the Buffalo National River.
We offer facilities for YOUR horses, and have wilderness trails in the backyard. Negative Coggins required. Cost is $10.00 per horse, per day.
We want your stay with us to be the best ever, and we go out of our way to make sure it is.
The Cabins
Cedar Creek Cabin
This cabin is personally crafted of native rock and hand peeled logs with a pine and cedar interior. It has a rock fireplace, central heat and air, modern plumbing, public water system, and lots of windows. The cathedral ceiling has 2 ceiling fans. The red cedar bathroom features an antique claw-foot bathtub, towels and linens furnished. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, coffee pot, cooking utensils and tableware.
The master bedroom downstairs has a queen size bed. The upstairs loft has a double bed and a sleeper sofa. Awesome rock walls border the picnic area with tables and outdoor grill. From the front porch swing is a breathtaking view of Red Rock Bluffs and Big Creek. This cabin is a work of art with lots of homey touches. We welcome pets and have facilities for your horses.
Hickory Hill Cabin
Around the corner and out of sight from the Cedar Creek cabin, is the Hickory Hill cabin. This 3 bedroom cabin features a hickory floor and walnut trim. It has a native stone fireplace ( firewood is furnished) , central heat and air, ceiling fan, a completely equipped kitchen with stove, microwave, toaster, coffee pot and hand crafted walnut and pine cabinets; and a tub and shower unit in the bathroom.
The living room has 2 couches, and a walnut rocker. Large windows make the cabin bright and offer a spectacular view of the Ozark mountains.
The loft bedroom has a double and single bed, with a small outdoor deck to enjoy the sunrise. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs with antique double beds covered by hand made heirloom quilts.
Outside, nestled among rock terraces and trees, is the picnic area with a gas grill, campfire ring, and picnic table. Hiking trails lead from the cabin to the creek and beyond. We like Hickory Hill even better than the Cedar Creek cabin.
