A vacation adventure awaits you at one of our 3 very unique vacation "getaways:. Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Ozark mountains you can choose from our 2 HISTORIC cabins, circa 1800 or our very sweet "renovated" Historic Farm House, circa 1900. OR reserve all 3 for a perfect family reunion!! If you are looking for an ideal place for your honeymoon, anniversary, birthday or just to "getaway" from it all, our Historic places are the perfect places to REST, RELAX and RENEW! GUARANTEED!! We are also PET friendly including HORSES but you must bring your own! There are miles and miles of gorgeous trails to access into the Buffalo National River Park Whether you are riding a horse or hiking you will see beautiful bluffs, caves, wildlife, wildflowers and the awesome Buffalo River, any time of the year! You are also welcome to hike and ride on our 130 acres.

Or consider the sweet "historical" Gates cabin that was built in the 1870's right where its stands today. Surrounded by 129 beautiful acres and fully restored by local skilled the Gates cabin has a tranquil and peaceful feeling as soon as you walk through the door. This cabin and a "Lincoln Log" style barn are registered with the National Historic Registry.

The "historical" Woodard/Taylor cabin is unique and charming. This cabin was moved onto the 129 acres from a neighboring homestead and was built around 1880. Also fully restored by local craftsmen and sits at the end of a private wooded lane past the Gates cabin. These two historical cabins have original native stone fireplaces. There are many hiking/mountain biking trails on the property that meander through a beautiful pine grove. There are awesome views including Point Peter mountain and vistas!

All three are fully equipped to make your stay as comfortable as possible from the can opener to the linens. All you need to bring is food and drinks! Bring plenty because the nearest food/restaurant is 20-30 minutes away!

Attractions     Top

The Buffalo National River: experience canoeing, fishing, and horseback riding at Silver Hill just about 20 miles from the cabin located on hwy 65N. Rent a horse and ride the beautiful trails or rent a canoe and float the gorgeous Buffalo River from Tyler Bend (just past Silver Hill on your left) to the quaint town of Gilbert. The only way to really see the river and all the wildlife that you probably wouldn’t normally see, is by canoe!!

Hiking Trails: See the most photographed rock in Arkansas, Hawksbill Crag; the awesome Pedestal Rock, rock climber’s favorite, Sam's Throne; beautiful Lost Valley and more. Most of these hikes will be a good day trip, except Pedestal Rock which is located off Hwy. 16.

Historic Eureka Springs: looking for crafts, shows, and unique gift shops? A day trip to Eureka Springs, a Victorian spa city, can include attractions like The Great Passion Play and the narrow gauge railroad. It's just a couple hour's drive, tour the famous Crescent Hotel, and the church entered through the dome, enjoy fine dining, and see the turn of the century homes and buildings.

Branson, Missouri: has great music shows and is an easy drive, you can choose from country music, gospel, and comedy shows by some of the biggest names in the business.

Springfield, Missouri: is another good day trip to see the famous Bass Pro Shop with its wildlife exhibits.

Mountain Biking and ATV’s: miles of old roads and Forest Service trails and roads are open to bike riders. And you can ride your ATV’s in the Ozark National Forest, but NOT in the Richland Creek Wilderness area!

Scenic Drives: Reader's Digest calls Arkansas Highway 7 one of the top ten scenic drives in America. Be sure to take your camera for some breathtaking mountaintop views.

Wilderness Adventures: We have four wilderness areas nearby; the upper Buffalo, Ponca, Richland Creek, and the Ozark National Forest.

Craft and Antique shopping: local shops offer a variety of crafts and antiques at very reasonable prices.

Caving: explore on your own at recreation areas like Lost Valley or call Mystic Caverns, 870-743-1739, or Hurricane River Cave, 1-800-245-2282.

Blanchard Springs Caverns: were described as "the cave find of the century" when the huge, upper level was discovered in 1963. The multi-million dollar complex took 10 years to develop. Visitor tours are offered daily with the exception of selected national holidays and some weekdays in the winter. Reservations are recommended during heavy-use periods of summer and fall. For current information and reservations call: 870-757-2211.

Crafts: You’ll find them here in the Ozarks, the same functional, beautiful furniture, quilts, baskets, toys, and other treasures our ancestors made when they came here in the early 1800s. Or, try a day trip to, Silver Dollar City for shows, crafts, and family fun. Call 1-800-952-6626 for information.

WILDLIFE As you explore the area around the cabins and historic farm house you may see a variety of birds (bring your nocs) including Cardinals, Owls (may only hear them), American Gold Finch, Scarlet Tanagers and many others. There are numerous deer and even a couple of Elk have been sighted. Other mentionable critters are raccoon (you may hear them romping on the deck at night), gray and red squirrels, even a opossum or armadillo or you may hear a coyote howling in the distance. Our historic cabins have also been the chosen spot for a mother bear and her cubs for the past 2 winters. This year she had 3 cubs! They were adorable! Well, you may see a critter I haven't mentioned and if you do please let us know, we would like to share it with other guests. You may choose to take a short drive past the cabins (about 3 miles) and explore the numerous trails in the Buffalo National River Park where you will see some spectacular scenery. The Buffalo River is just a short ways past one of the trail heads. Call me for directions. It is easy to find!.

Lakes: We are close enough to Bull Shoals Lake for an easy day trip to enjoy boating and fishing there. Even closer is Greers Ferry Lake @ Heber Springs just 16 miles EAST of Clinton off Hwy 16.
