The historic Woodard/Taylor cabin is
located just down the lane from the Gates cabin. Built in the 1870s the
Woodard/Taylor cabin sits in a serene and very private setting. The cabin was
moved onto the property and fully restored in 1999 by a local craftsman. This
cabin is larger than the Gates cabin and will sleep up to 6 people. It too is
fully equipped for all your needs.
The Woodard/Taylor cabin is as sweet and charming as they come with a full
covered deck with rocking chairs so you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, tea
or hot chocolate while you listen and watch the wildlife. This charming and
quite comfortable Woodard/Taylor has 1 queen bed on main level and 2 double beds
in loft adorned with
beautiful comforters and sleeps 6." The cabin offers a handmade stone fireplace,
cathedral ceiling, hardwood floors and a loft. There is also an outdoor BBQ and
picnic table for those nice sunny warm days.
There are several beautiful hiking trails that meander through the property and
through a tall stand of pines, along the way you can stop for a rest at the
large spring-fed pond with dock and wooden bridge. You most likely will see
deer, turkey and an occasional bobcat and black bear! If you like the outdoors
and are looking for peace and quiet then the Woodard/Taylor cabin is the place
for you. This cabin is also located about 4 miles from the Buffalo National
River and about 10 miles to the Ozark National Forest and the Richland Creek
Wilderness area.
